1. Age

This is unavoidable, but still a factor. Planning for a baby in extremely later stages of life is never advised. This is because the blood testosterone levels start decreasing with age. And, after you cross 50, the semen volume decreases, sperm morphology may become abnormal, and sperm vitality becomes reduced.

2. Smoking

Apart from damaging your health and lungs, smoking can also have a negative effect on male fertility. It can decrease the sperm speed or motility and also reduce the number of healthy sperms in the semen.

3. Obesity

Obesity plays a significant role in the male fertility. When you become extremely overweight it can reduce your semen quality, which can lead to the decrease in the sperm motility. Therefore, it is extremely important to welcome a healthy lifestyle. The first step is to maintain your ideal weight and to be within the healthy BMI scale. Consuming a well-balanced meal and regular workouts can do the trick.

4. Alcohol

Alcohol consumption, when done within limits, can still be safe. But, drinking excess amounts can hamper your fertility and this holds true for both men and women. The more you drink, the more your fertility may get damaged.

5. Stress

Today, the traffic, the excess workloads, personal relationships, and so much more can contribute towards excess stress. However, it is not only good for your health, but it can also hamper your fertility. This is because when you get stressed, the autonomic nervous system and the adrenal hormones participate in it in and this can have a negative impact on the reproductive system. Hence, never take stress lightly. Do things you enjoy more often to keep your health in check.
