How Exercise Can Increase Your Chances to Conceive

Pregnancy is one of the most important and challenging stages in a woman’s life. It is characterised by a lot of changes that happen in a woman’s body, mind, and heart. The pathway from conception to childbirth, is a long and difficult one. If you are someone who is trying to conceive, exercising can be really beneficial for you. According to researches, women who exercise moderately are likely to conceive faster than women who do not. A healthy BMI (body mass index) can increase your chances of conceiving faster.

Here are some things about exercise and conception to keep in my mind:

1. Exercise, PCOS, and Conception

PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome. 38 to 66 % of women who have PCOS, are obese. They are more likely to develop insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. It is an extremely common medical condition in women which can cause infertility. One in five women of reproductive age, suffer from PCOS. Women with PCOS, can follow a routine of exercising regularly. Shedding some extra pounds can subsequently increase their chances of conceiving.

2. Make It A Habit

Starting to exercise while trying to conceive or during early pregnancy can go a long way. Start with yoga, swimming, doing light exercises, or going out on walks. Not only is yoga a great form of exercise to stay physically fit but also it helps in relieving excess stress. Yoga reduces anxiety, helps in balancing body hormones, thus increasing your chances to conceive.
